Zlatna sopela - mediterranean folklore meeting from 2nd until 6th july

A must among summer festivals - Zlatna sopela - is a traditional meeting of folklore groups coming from the Mediterranean area, but also other parts of Europe and the world. During the seven days of this festival the streets of Poreč are swarming with colorful folk costumes, traditional musical instruments and dances.

The Poreč square 'Trg slobode' becomes the central venue for the event. The ambiance and crowds completely blend with the performances of folklore groups. Especially interesting is the competition of solo players of Mediterranean wind instruments. For all lovers of Mediterranean cuisine there is a presentation of old traditional dishes that have been prepared with a lot of love. Unique display of folk costumes, presentation of traditional crafts and instructive school of Mediterranean folklore are all offered here at this meeting of culture, tradition, dance and music.
