Sailing

Sailing is a skill humans have known for thousands of years.  It is one of the oldest sports in existence and in modern times is considered a lifestyle, method of relaxation and hobby.  Poreč has two active sailing clubs, JK Horizont and JK Poreč which organise sailing schools for beginners as a first step to setting sail on the open sea.

This Olympic sport is based on the skill required to sail a sailboat on water using only the wind as a source of power.  It is attractive due to the time spent on the open sea in combination with the sunshine while you explore Poreč's magical coast, crystal-clean sea and tour tiny islands with their hidden coves and beaches.

You can follow professional sailing during the Porečki delfin (Poreč's Dolphin), a swimming festival at sea, by participating or simply enjoying the sailing regatta, or during the Region of Istria Cup in the 'optimist' class when Poreč's blue sea is flooded with white sails.  Here you will surely feel adrenaline with all your senses while spending time in untouched nature for an unforgettable feeling
